Special Edition Payback (Sisterhood Book 2) with Free MOBI EDITION!

I enjoy vigilante stories. Not sure what that says about me, but there you go. The characters in this book comprise a group of avengers with various professional abilities, knowledge, powerful connections and a variety of strengths, all who have been wronged or suffered in some way. They combine efforts so that each can exact revenge against someone or thing. They work well together (relationships are a little too contrived, and a bit sappy, but okay) and are funded by a wealthy patron (convenient) who had her own grudge to avenge. One of the two problems I have with the book is that it seems dated. Even though it was published in 2005, there were references that made me constantly think of the 70's. I don't care when a story takes place, just pick one time period and stick with it. The other problem I had was with the elements of revenge at the end that were conveniently contrived and totally unrealistic. Frankly, the only reason I gave this three stars is because I finished the book. This isn't what I expect from Fern Michaels.
